Council

Your Village Council is elected by residents to oversee the administration, development and upkeep of the village. Members of the Council work very hard to ensure that the needs of their constituents are met and that everyone is proud to call Chipman, Alberta home.

Council Meetings are held every second Monday of the month in the Village Office. All meetings begin at 8:00 p.m. sharp. There is also an Annual General Meeting to which all residents are invited to share their ideas and concerns.

Current Council Members are:

Jim Palmer - Mayor
John Stribling - Councillor
Gary Stead - Councillor

Administrative tasks for the village are performed by the hardworking staff at the Village Office. If you visit the Village Office, you will receive a warm welcome from Pat Tomkow and her staff. They are willing and able to help you with any questions you might have with respect to utility bills, local services and amenities as well as upcoming events in and around the area. The village office also serves the banking needs of Chipman residents and is equipped with an Alberta Treasury Branch agency. For more information, please feel free to contact the village office.

While the governance and administration of the village is performed largely out of the Village Office, there is another important unit that works hard to keep the boulevards beautiful and the village in tip-top shape, year-round. The Chipman Public Works team are committed to ensuring that all residents are proud to call Chipman their home.
